About me
Brian Klaas is the Assistant Director for Technology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's Center for Teaching and Learning. He also has a faculty appointment in the School's R3 Center for Innovation in Science Education. He teaches graduate level courses on communications design and data visualization for non-expert audiences as well as applications of generative artificial intelligence in public health. Brian leads a team of developers who build learning experiences for the School of Public Health, including tools that harness generative AI to improve student writing and assist faculty in the creation of effective assessments. He is a frequent speaker on both storytelling in the health sciences and practical use of generative AI for public health professionals at health science conferences and workshops around the country.
